Rossetti takes Basso

Changing of the guard, Rossetti takes Basso’s place as No. 1 of the Italian Rally Ranking

RossettiWith the end of all the rallies held in the world, in Italy and in the Republic of San Marino this year, Luca Rossetti is ensured of being the new number one of the 2010 Italian Rally Ranking, taking the place of his team-mate Giandomenico Basso who was ranked first in 2009. An irresistible climb throughout the year enabled the European Rally Champion to win the top spot thanks to the points earned in the races in Italy, but especially for his performance in competitions abroad. The advantage of the 2009 number 1, Giandomenico Basso was slowly chipped away in a 2010 season marked by bad luck, for him only a third position in this year’s ranking, the second place is for the Italian champion Paolo Andreucci, who scored more points than Rossetti in the events held in Italy, but in the final standings suffered the lack of results abroad. Placed fourth is for Renato Travaglia who has passed in the final rush Andrea Perego. Rossetti and Andreucci are also the first two Italians in the world ranking, with Rossetti in 11th place and Andreucci in 26th position in the world. In the first 10 drivers in the ranking there is only one “under 25”, Marco Signor. The Italian number one driver on gravel is Paolo Andreucci, while Luca Rossetti is the number one on tarmac, and Fabio Frisiero is the best on snow. There are 2069 drivers from all regions of Italy and from the Republic of San Marino who after taking part in rallies in Italy and around the world in 2010 have acquired the necessary results to enter the Italian Rally Ranking. This is the final response of the new IRDA ranking for the first 20 positions:
