Mosta, Malta — 26th August 2025 — The Malta Motorsport Federation (MMF) today announces that, starting in 2026, it will launch a new national karting championship featuring OKN, OKJN, and Gr3 championships.
“This is a major step in strengthening Malta’s grassroots-to-elite pathway in motorsport,” said Duncan Micallef, President of the MMF. “OKN and OKNJ offer accessible, modern karting with strong driver development potential, while Gr3 keeps a competitive, cost-controlled national class that local teams and drivers already know and love.”
The new championships are designed to:
- Broaden participation with classes suited to both junior and senior drivers.
- Control costs through clearly defined technical regulations and tyre/control component tendering.
- Develop talent by aligning Malta’s pathway with widely adopted international standards.
